To improve the quality of life for residents and visitors to Amador County, the Amador Air District is charged with the responsibility of watching over the air resources of Amador County.

Summit Ranger District provides a multitude of recreation opportunities both winter and summer to the public. The district also offers special use permits for woodcutting, minerals, and wilderness trips. Summertime provides ranger guided programs.

We host an adult field trip that gives participants first hand experience with recreation, harvesting, water, energy, fire, grazing, and mining.

Authorize, permit, and monitor a variety of sources with potential to emit air contaminants; including agriculture and other industry related sources. Issue and monitor burn permits.

Promote and protect agriculture. Consumer protection by insuring equity and fairness in the market place through regulation of industry and transactions based on weight, measure, or count. Enforcement of clean air standards.
