Programs and Services Offered:
Early Childhood Services/State Preschool/Head Start
Offering free full day and half day preschool programs to prepare children aged 3-5 for kindergarten. Head Start Programs provide child enrichment, education, health , nutritional and developmental services as well as parent education and involvement opportunities. Early Head Start serves children 6 weeks to 3 years. Home based programs serve pregnant women and families in their homes weith children up to age 5. The Jackson Center offers full-day childcare at low or no cost for parents who are working or going to school.

Family Learning and Support Services:
Tuolumne County: Open Tuesday through Friday for families with children birth to age 17. Classes for adults: General Education Degree preparation, computer training, job readiness, parenting, health education, counseling, support groups, English language instruction. Transportation is provided.
Amador County:The Ione family Learning Center provides English language instruction, G.E.D. preparation for English language learners, citizenship classes, job skills, parenting and interactive literacy activities. Families with children aged 7 and under are eligible to attend. In addition, Family Advocate and Promotora de Salud services and we host Weekly Wellness Workshops that are open to the community.

Supplemental food programs; solicits, transports, stores and distributes emergency and supplemental foods to individuals and families in need. Programs include Emergency Food Programs, 60+ Senior program, Foods for Kids, Produce Distribution, Holiday Food Baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas. ATCAA Volunteers can help you apply for any program or assist you with putting together a plan to ensure you and your family have enough food.

Providing income-eligible residents with utility bill assistance, every 12-18 months, as well as education on reducing energy costs. Weatherization services provide energy-saving home improvements such as weather stripping, insulation and replacement with energy-saving appliances, where eligible. Homes are eligible every 5 years for weatherization.

Homeless and Transitional Shelters provide emergency shelter to homeless children and families, along with case management, support for job training, housing search, as well as social, health and mental health services. Additionally, when funding is available, rent and utility assistance is provided through the Homeless Prevention Program. Housing and Budget Counseling is also available. Homebuyer education programs, mortgage delinquency and default resolution, post-purchase counseling, financial literacy, renters assistance when available.

Both centers offer healthy and community oriented activities and services for residents of all ages. Family Advocates are available to do home visiting and provide case management services for interested families. School readiness programs, playgroups, educational workshops, health classes and resources, parenting classes and support groups, after-school tutoring, children’s art and dance classes, Healthy Families Insurance outreach. food Distribution, WIC and community dinners, Find Your Balance programs, weekly wellness workshops and more offered.

Mentoring Works matches caring adults in a one-on-one relationship with children identified as at-risk, and in need of a friend. Studies show that children involved in mentoring programs are less likely to engage in drug and alcohol use and are more likely to succeed in school.

Friday Night Live (FNL) Program focuses on building partnerships for positive and healthy youth development which engage youth as active leaders and resources in Tuolumne county. Programs in Tuolumne county include FNL Mentoring, FNL ACTION, Club Live, Red Ribbon Week, Challenge Days, Every 15 Minutes, Sources of Strengths, World Cafe and the HOLLA Awards. Friday Night Live Helps youth develop leadership skills and increase resiliency to alcohol and drug use.
